The act of Remembrance is one of the most important ways to honour and thank Veterans for their sacrifices.

Today, on Remembrance Day, the City of Quinte West and across Canada, honoured through remembrance those who gave their lives to serve our country.

At the Trenton Cenotaph and Veterans Memorial, hundreds gathered with their poppies on to pay their respects.

The event saw several members of the Canadian Armed Forces, many of whom placed a wreath.

Bay of Quinte MP Chris Malette, Mayor of Quinte West Jim Harrison and Deputy Mayor Shelley Steddall, and Constituency Assistant to Bay of Quinte MPP Tyler Allsopp, Adam Bramburger, also placed respective wreaths.

Prior to the placing of wreaths, O’Canada, two minutes of silence,Le and many heartfelt messages were shared, including a prayer, the reading of Flanders Fields, and an inspiring message about how today is about much more than lip service, but a necessary time to honour past, present, and future members, ones we have lost, ones who have been injured, and ones who continue to serve.
