XXL Scrunchie ringing Christmas bells of support at warehouse sale next Saturday

XXL Scrunchie’s doors will be open to community members and supporters once again next Saturday.

The local women’s hairwear company, run by Tina Nguyen, is aiming to follow a successful in-person warehouse sale from the summer with another similar event ahead of the Christmas season.

Nguyen said her business had an incredible turnout at the two-day summer sale, with over 1,000 people visiting across two days and her team completing 700+ orders.

She explained small businesses like hers continue to require added support with the current trade war between Canada and the United States.

“Despite an amazing Advent Calendar launch, new U.S. tariff regulations have made shipping extremely difficult and expensive for myself and our customers, and we still have over 100 calendars left,” Nguyen stated.

“Last year they sold out in just 30 minutes, so I had tripled our inventory this year in preparation. Had I had known about the tariffs I would not have prepared as many.”

Nguyen praised the community for showing up in a big way and she says she’s hopeful it can come together again this holiday season.
