By Hailey MacDonald Aug 23, 2025 | 7:15 AM

The third annual Aquathon Race for the late Maddy Kort is taking place around the Roblin Lake area in Ameliasburgh on Saturday, August 23 from 10 am to 2 pm.

13-year-old Maddy and her younger sister, Joni, both from Belleville, passed tragically in a traffic accident near Jacksonville, Florida in 2022.

The race combines swimming and running.

There will be no road closures as runners will be travelling on the side of the roads.

Motorists and boaters are asked to take caution while in the area over the weekend as a higher number of swimmers and pedestrians are expected.

The running route will start at Roblin Lake onto County Road 19 to County Road 2, Salem Road, Whitney Road, back on to County Road 19 and ending at Roblin Lake.

A map of the route can be found through this link.
