The Trenton Golden Hawks were winners in a competitive preseason game Saturday night, winning 6-3 over the Wellington Dukes at Lehigh Arena.
Trenton battled back after losing a two-goal lead and scored four unanswered goals to put the Dukes away in the first of a home-and-home exhibition set.
Spencer Hughes scored twice, while Taeo Artichuk and Nate Taylor added three points and Kale Mace and Devon Ferroni chipped in with two.
Jaxon Broda added a single goal for the Hawks, who scored three times on the powerplay.
Zack Carrier, Beckham Brooks and Maxime Morin all scored for Wellington consecutively, with Carrier adding an assist and Sacha Trudel chipping in with two helpers.
All four goaltenders saw action, with Trenton sending out Finn Wilson (8 saves on 10 shots) and Lucas Corpiono (22 saves on 23 shots) and Wellington putting out Colby Booth-Housego (11 saves on 13 shots) and Royden Smith (16 saves on 20 shots).
The two teams will tangle again Sunday evening at 6:30 back at the Duncan McDonald Community Gardens.
