Handgun and illegal drugs seized in Stirling

A Foxboro man is facing drug and weapons charges after being arrested in Stirling.

On Monday, August 25, 2025, shortly before 2:00 p.m., officers from the Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of suspicious activity.

Officers located a male who had outstanding arrest warrants in another part of the province.

The individual was arrested, and a search located a handgun and quantity of suspected cocaine. The male was reportedly wearing a bullet proof vest.

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed by Central Hastings OPP, the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit and OPP Emergency Response Team at an apartment on West Front Street in Stirling.

Christopher FOSTER, age 42 of Foxboro, has been charged under the Criminal Code, the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Highway Traffic Act with:

Carrying a concealed weapon
Careless storage of a firearm
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon
Possession of a Schedule 1 substance
Driving while under suspension
Using a plate not authorized for a vehicle
Failing to comply with an undertaking

The accused was held in custody and was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
