Members of the Prince Edward County and Quinte West Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged a vessel operator with impaired driving.
On Sunday, Aug. 24 around 4:30 p.m., officers were conducting marine patrols on West Lake in Prince Edward County. Officers stopped a vessel and spoke to the occupants. During the interaction, officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the driver.
Decon Waterson, 42, from Prince Edward County, has been charged with:
Operation while impaired
Failure or refusal to comply with a demand
Operating boat underway with open container of liquor
Operating pleasure craft without transferring licence – new owner
The accused is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 17.
