There’s a new champion in the South Hastings Baseball League.

Regular Season MVP Kirby Tebo swatted a walkoff single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Uens Pole Line an 11-10 victory and a four-game sweep in the SHBL final over the Rhino Lining Rockies.

The Rockies nearly made a massive comeback after going down 8-2. scoring seven unanswered runs in the fifth inning to take a 9-8 lead.

After Uens retook the lead, Ty Green evened the score with a clutch home run in the top of the seventh, only to watch Tebo’s heroics in the bottom half of the frame to give

Uens held an early 8-2 lead before a big 5th inning saw the Rockies up 9-8. It went back and fourth with Uens leading 10-9 in the top of the 7th inning. With two out Rockies Ty Green hit a clutch solo homerun tying the game at 10.

The title is Uens’ first since 2016 and snaps the Rockies five-year championship run.

Those five consecutive titles by the Rockies was a feat only completed by two other teams in league history.
