A six-week campaign run by the local branch of a national hardware and home improvement store chain has paid off in big ways.
Rona+ Belleville, with the help of community members, raised a little more than $4,000 ($4,082) in support of Habitat for Humanity Hastings-Prince Edward through its Home Sweet Home campaign.
Proceeds from the Home Sweet Home campaign will directly support Habitat PEH’s ongoing projects, including the transformative 66-unit Habitat Village Condominium development.
Shoppers enjoyed sizzling barbecues with hamburgers and hot dogs, thrilling raffles for signed sports jerseys, and even the chance to pie a manager in the face at RONA+ Belleville over the course of six weeks – all in the name of giving back.
CEO of Habitat for Humanity PEH Hazzem Koudsi stated the generosity and creativity shown throughout the campaign are what builds homes and hope in the region.
Habitat officials say applications are currently open for the build project on Lester Road, which will soon become two semidetached homes available to four worthy families.
