Prince Edward County Council has awarded the tender for the York Street reconstruction project to Cobourg Development Services Ltd. in the amount of $855,941 plus applicable taxes.

The decision, made at Council’s tonight’s meeting, also included approval of additional reserve funding to support the project. Council agreed to allocate:

$132,780 from the Reserve for Water Capital to be added to Capital Project INI-0207W,

$439,800 from the Reserve for Wastewater Capital for Capital Project INI-0207WW, and

$107,950 from the Reserve for Roads Construction – Urban to be added to Capital Project INI-0207R.

In total, more than $680,000 in reserve funds were directed toward the York Street work, which will cover water, wastewater, and road construction costs associated with the project.

Council also authorized the Mayor and Clerk to execute an agreement with Cobourg Development Services Ltd. to carry out the reconstruction and passed a bylaw to formally approve the contract.

The reconstruction of York Street is one of several capital projects underway as the County continues to invest in infrastructure renewal.
