There were many warm wishes and thankful words as a special sendoff was held last night at Quinte West City Hall for outgoing Mayor Jim Harrison.
Local reps including Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis, Brighton Mayor Brian Ostrander and Prince Edward County Mayor Steve Ferguson took time to honour Harrison after a career that included decades on council and three terms as Mayor.
Representatives from Bay of Quinte MP Chris Malette and Bay of Quinte MPP Tyler Allsopp’s office were also on hand to offer their thanks.
Mayor-Elect Zack Card says, “Mayor Harrison’s decades of council experience and his deep knowledge of the community, and the people that comprise it, can never be replaced”.
Harrison announced over the summer that he would not run for a fourth term as Mayor and was also stepping away from his duties on the family farm.
