A now former Quinte West Councillor and mayoral candidate is expressing her gratitude for the support and encouragement she received during the recent municipal election.
Shelley Stedall made a statement on social media early Wednesday, saying she was happy to have taken the leap to try and run for the mayor’s position in the municipality, coming up just short against Zack Card.
“I won’t pretend I’m not disappointed. I was excited about the opportunity to bring my experience and leadership to the Mayor’s office and continue working to make Quinte West an even better place to live, work and raise a family. I had so many ideas and was looking forward to putting them into action,” Stedall stated.
“While things didn’t turn out as I had hoped, I’m proud of the campaign we ran and the support we received.
She added she was appreciative of everyone who helped her and had discussions with her during the campaign.
“To everyone who supported me, displayed a sign, made a donation, shared a post, attended an event or took the time to speak with me, thank you,” stated Stedall.
“Your kindness and encouragement meant more than I can say. I truly appreciated the conversations I had with so many residents about your hopes, concerns and ideas for Quinte West.”
Stedall concluded by saying she had a plenty of projects and opportunities that she’s looking forward to attending to and that her commitment to Quinte West has not wavered.
