The Northumberland OPP has charged a second individual in connection with a late-summer investigation into stolen property that began following a collision in Trent Hills.
The original investigation started after officers responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck on Concession Road 13 East on the evening of August 30, involving two occupants that reportedly fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.
The subsequent investigation revealed the involved pickup truck had been reported stolen from Durham Region in 2021 and was displaying licence plates registered to a different vehicle at the time of the collision.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit arrested and charged one individual on October 6.
Further investigative efforts led CSCU members to a property in Havelock, where officers recovered a stolen enclosed trailer and a stolen side-by-side off-road vehicle.
The property had been reported stolen from a location in Madoc in August.
Investigators identified a second individual believed to be connected to the recovered stolen property.
Adam Livingstone, 39, of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township was arrested on Wednesday and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in December 2026.
Investigators would like to thank members of the public who provided information and assisted with the appeal for assistance. Community cooperation played an important role in advancing the investigation and identifying the second accused.
