Community Care Northumberland has raked in a grand amount of money through an event that supports its local hospice centre.
The Hike, Bike and Bark event raised $72,840 in support of Ed’s House Hospice Care Centre, thanks to the generosity of participants, sponsors, volunteers and donors across the region.
Held on September 27 at Victoria Park in Cobourg, this year’s event brought together 200 participants, along with over 50 of their four-legged friends, to walk and ride for the families and individuals who turn to Ed’s House for comfort, dignity and support during life’s most difficult moments.
Funds raised will help to cover the integral end-of-life care that Ed’s House provides to its residents, and their families free of charge.
Community Care Northumberland and Ed’s House extend its sincere thanks to CPS Wood Products, the first-ever Presenting Sponsor of Hike, Bike and Bark, whose support helped make this year’s event possible. Thank you as well to our many sponsors, the volunteers who gave their time, and every participant who raised funds and took part the day of.
Each year, the event’s top individual fundraiser and top fundraising team are recognized with their names on a plaque at Ed’s House.
This year’s top individual fundraiser was Mary Doig, who raised $3,270, while fundraisers, HG for Hospice, who raised an incredible $6,200.
CCN representatives say they are grateful for their support, dedication and immense contributions to hospice services at Ed’s House.
