Colton Drillen-Roach played a starring role in his old stomping grounds for the Leamington Flyers on Tuesday.
The Phelpston, Ont. netminder turned back all 32 Trenton Golden Hawks shots to shut out his old mates 4-0 at the Duncan McDonald Community Gardens.
A four-point night from Griffin Grundner and two goals from Ashton Darocy led the way offensively for the Flyers, visiting Trenton for the first time since October 5, 2024.
Grundner scored on a scramble on Trenton rookie goaltender Simon Godin to get the scoring started late in the first, with Darocy winging a high shot home and Grunder spanking a backdoor feed off the rush from Josh Cleary in the second stanza.
Darocy’s powerplay goal about five-and-a-half minutes into the third polished off a satisfactory effort for Leamington.
Godin, up from the Kingston Jr. Gaels U18 AAA team, put a solid showing forward with 26-save effort in his OJHL debut.
Trenton will look to snap out of its six-game slide in Lindsay versus the Muskies at 7 p.m. Friday.
