Tyendinaga Police continue to make progress in its illegal cannabis raids on the Mohawk Territory.
Another update into the investigation last night stated that ‘tens of thousands’ of illegal cannabis plants have been seized by officers and investigators, as well as a handgun and a high-capacity magazine.
Tyendinaga Police say a quarry has been depleted, leaving significant environmental impacts and negative effect on the area’s water table.
Officials added living conditions at the cannabis operation sites, which are being run in part by some non-community members, have ‘disrespected’ the Mohawk lands.
Several people have already been taken into custody, including five from off the Territory and police say additional arrest warrants are out for more suspects.
