Savour the Flavour returns: Belleville’s Mac & Cheese Fest is back Oct. 4

By Hailey MacDonald Sep 26, 2025 | 2:44 PM

Following the overwhelming success of last year’s debut, Savour the Flavour is back for its second annual mac and cheese contest on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Downtown Belleville.

Last fall, crowds packed Downtown Belleville to taste inventive mac and cheese creations, proving the city’s love for comfort food.

This year, 17 Downtown restaurants are participating, battling for People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice honours.
For $4 per bowl, attendees can taste their way through a variety of cheesy delights—from pumpkin and sage flavour, to Philly-style, to maple whisky and bacon-loaded. Guests are encouraged to bring cash and their own forks to help reduce waste.

Voting for the People’s Choice Award will be online through the Downtown Belleville website, or by scanning QR codes on event posters at each participating restaurant.

The judges for the event include Victor Cooper, founder of Eighty Twenty Studio, and his wife Jodi, both co-chairs of the 2025 United Way campaign. A representative from event sponsor Lactalis Canada will be the third judge.

Participating downtown restaurants include:

BayLeaf (Tandoori Twist Mac and Cheese)
Belle Pub (Belle Mac and Cheese)
Benji’s Coffee Bar (Baked Mac and Cheese)
Bourbon Street Pizza (Cheesy Bacon Mac)
Burger Revolution (The Merc Mac and Cheese)
Capers (Philly Style Mac and Cheese)
Frosty Bubble Bliss (Butter Chicken Pesto Mac and Cheese)
Gourmet Diem (Chili Mac)
L’Auberge de France (Pumpkin and Sage Mac and Cheese)
Law and Orders (The Mac Law with mac and cheese bites)
Obi’s Kitchen (Maple Whisky Bacon Jam)
Paulo’s & Dinkels (Caprese Macaroni Salad)
Rockstar’s Bar and Grill (Smoked Meat Mac and Cheese)
The Kafana (Golden Potato Mushroom Mac)
The Lark (Brown Butter Mac)
Tropical Blends (MC Garlic)
UpFront Cafe (The Big Cheesy)

The Children’s Safety Village of Belleville will have a booth at the event, United Way will be present and “Cheesy” the mascot from Lactalis will be handing out free Cheesestrings.
