Belleville Police have charged a local teen in a threatening case.
On September 23, 2026, Belleville Police began investigating a report of harassment involving youth.
It was reported that a male youth had repeatedly communicated with another youth through social media and text messages. Over the course of several weeks, the communications reportedly became increasingly threatening. During the investigation, police learned that a male youth had shared images of himself with a firearm while making threats toward the victim.
As a result of the investigation, on October 1, a 16-year-old Belleville male, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), was arrested and charged with:
· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
· Uttering threats
· Criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate
· Criminal harassment – threatening conduct
He was held for a bail hearing.
