The Quinte West OPP has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation at a local campground from a couple weeks ago.
On Saturday, September 19 just before midnight, members of the Quinte West OPP were responding to an unrelated call at a local campground when officers stopped a side-by-side vehicle. Following an Approved Screening Device test, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
Sebastian Krol, 32 years old from Quinte West, was charged with impaired driving and impaired while over 80 mg.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on December 3. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
OPP officials advise drivers can be charged with impaired driving while operating any motorized vehicle in campgrounds, trailer parks, parking lots, private lanes, and other properties that are open to the public while under the influence.
