Car4Cancer Lottery roars back with Mustang grand prize

By Submitted Jul 21, 2025 | 3:50 PM

The Belleville General Hospital Foundation (BGHF) officially launched its second Car4Cancer Lottery on Monday at 10:00am, and it’s not just about winning an incredible prize — it’s about changing lives. With cancer expected to impact 2 in 5 Canadians in their lifetime, BGHF is, once again, stepping up in a big way to revolutionize cancer care for the region.

At the heart of this bold effort is the Dr. Douglas A. MacIntosh Oncology Clinic, the regional hub for cancer care, located right here in Belleville. The Foundation’s goal? Ensure every patient — from Belleville to Bancroft and beyond — has access to cutting-edge treatment, life-saving equipment, and even compassionate financial support when they need it most. Government funding does not cover the cost of new equipment or innovative cancer drugs. That’s where the Foundation — and donors — step in.

“With every ticket, you’re not just playing to win,” said Steven Cook, Executive Director of BGHF. “You’re giving patients the gift of hope — access to faster diagnosis, better treatment, and relief from financial stress during the hardest time of their lives.”

This draw’s Grand Prize? A jaw-dropping 2025 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Premium, valued at $87,823.60 – courtesy of Lange & Fetter Motors in Trenton. Think V8 engine, iconic design, and top-down summer freedom — and it could be yours for just $25.

The Foundation has already seen what’s possible: in its last lottery, Kelly Gerow drove away in a brand-new Corvette Stingray, and the campaign raised over $342,000. With momentum building and tickets being snapped up across Ontario, BGHF is on track to raise upwards of $1 million this year through lottery fundraising alone.

As the lottery draws continue to build, Lange & Fetter Motors has come on board as a proud vehicle partner:

“We recognize that over 60% of patients treated at BGH come from outside Belleville,” said Russ Macdonald, General Manager of Lange & Fetter. “We’ve seen the success of these draws and couldn’t wait to get involved. It’s a win-win for everyone — the odds are fantastic, and the impact is real.

Buy early for even more chances to win! Three Early Bird draws of $2,500 are up for grabs — on August 14, August 28, and September 11 — leading up to the Grand Prize draw on September 30, 2025.
