Accessibility improvements are slated to begin near the Picton Harbour Marina on Wednesday.
Prince Edward County officials say construction work on the docks located at Water Lot 1 next to the marina on 1 Head St. in Picton will include a change to the outline of the docks to make them more accessible.
Work will be undertaken by the owner of these docks., which will also include the installation of services in preparation for the 2027 boating season.
The work will be completed in phases. There will be minimal impact on Marina services during this time.
Seasonal users of these docks may be required to move their boats to alternate slips as work progresses. Advanced notice will be provided to those affected.
Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the work.
Access to the boat launch at the Picton Harbour Marina may be obstructed for short periods of time to facilitate equipment access.
