The local public school board is welcoming a large group of international students to their schools this fall.
Officials with the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board announced 70 students from 12 different countries are coming to study in the area.
Some students will be at their schools for one semester, while others will be around for the full school year. Students will be attending Bayside, Centennial and Eastside secondary schools and will be living with host families assigned by HPEDSB.
The whole group met at the Education Centre on September 1 for orientation, along with volunteer Canadian Student Ambassadors from the participating secondary schools.
The International Student Program, now in its 26th year, offers a positive educational and cultural experience for international students, while also providing opportunities for Canadian students, school staff, host families and the local community to engage with and appreciate other cultures.
