The money keeps rolling in for local hospitals this week.
On Monday, Bay of Quinte MPP Tyler Allsopp announced that Quinte Health would receive $2.5 million for infrastructure upgrades at Bancroft, Belleville, and Trenton hospitals.
The money was from the Ontario government’s Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund.
The same fund will be used to support the Lennox and Addingston County General Hospital. Regional MPP Ric Bresee has announced that over $3 million will be supporting infastructure projects at the Napanee hospital.
“People deserve to know that when they need care, their local hospital is ready for them. This investment is about making sure our health-care system has the critical infrastructure to provide that care safely and effectively. We have a responsibility to invest wisely, to get value for taxpayers and to make decisions that strengthen our communities. Upgrading the facilities for LACGH is exactly that kind of investment — putting people first, supporting our health-care workers and ensuring families can count on quality care close to home,” said Hastings-Lennox and Addington MPP Ric Bresee, in a statement today.
The money will help support upgrades to medical gas, HVAC, the elevator and the nurse call system.
