No risk to public safety as investigation into police-involved shooting in Kingston continues

Kingston Police have closed the Waaban Crossing in both directions due to a police-involved shooting and subsequent investigation.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at approximately 9:40 a.m.

The Waaban Crossing will be closed in both directions for an extended period of time and police are asking residents to avoid the area and choose an alternate route.

The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been contacted by the Kingston Police.

Officials with Kingston Police say there is no risk to public safety.
