A section of the eastbound Highway 401 faced a full closure overnight following a multi-vehicle collision reported in Lennox and Addington County.
East Region OPP officials stated the east 401 is expected to remain closed from Palace Road in Greater Napanee to Lennox & Addington County Road 6 in Odessa for several more hours, following a collision reportedly involving four transport trucks and a pickup truck.
The crash happened a little before midnight one kilometer east of County Road 4.
One person was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Some vehicles were backed up, and some were forced to get off at the Emergency Detour Route along Highway 2 to return to the highway.
Collision reconstruction teams are on scene investigating while cleanup efforts continue.
