Shannonville man charged in hit and run in Belleville

By Hailey MacDonald Oct 24, 2025 | 11:05 AM

A Shannonville man has been charged in connection with a hit and run in Belleville earlier this month.

On October 7th at 2:14am, Belleville Police attended an address in the city’s north end after an anonymous caller reported that a truck was involved in a hit and run, striking a female. It was reported that the driver abandoned the truck and fled the scene. Officers located a truck in the area without anyone inside. Police spoke with staff at a nearby establishment who reported that a group of males had been there earlier in the night and were acting rowdy. The group left the establishment and shortly afterward, staff learned that a female had been hit by a vehicle in the parking lot. Staff assisted the woman and transported her to a local hospital with minor injuries. While officers were investigating in the area, a male approached with video footage of the incident. The video showed a truck striking a woman in a parking lot before fleeing, and the driver abandoning the vehicle moments later.

On October 11th, the female victim attended the Belleville Police Service and provided officers with two pieces of identification which reportedly belonged to the suspect.

On October 23rd, as a result of police investigation, Brayden Lindsay, a 24-year-old Shannonville man, was located, arrested and charged with:

· Dangerous operation causing bodily harm

· Fail to stop at accident causing bodily harm

He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
