A Toronto-area resident faces charges in connection to a vehicle reportedly stolen from Quebec after being stopped in Northumberland County.
Sunday night at approximately 8:30 p.m., an officer was conducting patrols on Highway 401 westbound in Hamilton Township when the Automated Licence Plate Recognition system alerted them to a stolen vehicle.
After conducting a traffic stop, police arrested and charged 44-year-old Thi Kien of North York with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and theft of a motor vehicle
The accused is scheduled to appear in Cobourg in September.
