Belleville Police responded to just under 300 calls for service from early Friday morning to Monday.
Among them, was a call about a two-vehicle collision on Cannifton Road. The crash near Adam Street took place on Saturday at 10:43 p.m. Belleville Police investigators believe that both vehicles were travelling north on Cannifton Road after they left a business. Police add in a statement, that they believe one vehicle lost control, hitting the other.
Belleville Police claim that both drivers had been drinking. One driver registered a caution on the Approved Screening Device. The driver was issued a 7-day license suspension.
The second driver failed the ASD test and was sent back to the Belleville Police Station. The driver, 29-year-old Alexander Rowe-Basque, is facing impaired driving charges. The Toronto driver has had his license suspended for 90-days and has been released with a court date in October.
