The Province’s Special Investigations Unit has wrapped up their investigation into a woman’s death following a police pursuit in Greater Napanee earlier this year.
A 62-year-old woman passed away by drowning after a single motor vehicle collision in Greater Napanee on April 21, 2026.
As her vehicle was being pursued by an OPP officer at the time, the SIU was notified of the incident and initiated an investigation.
The investigation is now concluded.
On his assessment of the evidence, SIU Director Joseph Martino determined there were no reasonable grounds to believe that the officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the collision and the woman’s death.
