Four candidate have filed to run for Mayor in Belleville

It is now a four-way race to become the next Mayor of Belleville.

On Tuesday, Don Metzger filed his papers to run for the city’s top spot (as confirmed by the Belleville Votes website page).

He is the fourth confirmed candidate, joining incumbent Mayor Neil Ellis and challengers Kyle Woolven and Cynthia Black.

Candidates have until 2 pm on Friday to file for municipal and school board elections this fall.

There are currently 12 people signed up to run for the six seats on Belleville Council in Ward One and three people vying for the two seats in Ward Two.
