Stolen items uncovered in Bancroft / OPP.
Bancroft OPP have uncovered a variety of what is believed to be stolen items.
Police have announced that there has been an increase in the number of break-ins and thefts over last few months. Officers were able to identify a person of interest as a part of their investigation. Multiple OPP units executed a search warrant at a property in Carlow-Mayo Township last Wednesday, that was connected to the person of interest.
Officers arrived and found a number of items that they believe were stolen. The lengthy list includes firearms, vehicles, dirt bikes and power tools. The estimated value has been listed at over $200,000.
The suspect, Starr McAlpine has been charged. The 27-year-old from Carlow-Mayo Township is facing a long list of charges including 12 counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
McAlpine was held for a bail hearing.
The OPP are asking anyone who believes they have been a victim of a recent theft or break-in, who have not reported the incident, to come forward.
