Belleville Police arrest suspect in sexual assault case involving minor

Belleville Police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding sexual assault case where the reported victim was a minor.

On August 16, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Belleville Police observed a parked vehicle associated with a male who was wanted on an outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrant for:

· Invitation to Sexual Touching under 16 years of age

· Sexual Interference

· Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 years of age

Officers located the male a short time later. As a result, a 29-year-old Belleville man was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant. He was held for a bail hearing. No name was released.
