The Bancroft Detachment of the OPP has charged one individual following a drug trafficking investigation that started last month.
Members of the Bancroft OPP received information regarding possible drug trafficking activity in the Bancroft area ,which led to the arrest of one individual on Wednesday.
OPP then executed a search warrant at a residence in Bancroft on Thursday in relation to the investigation.
As a result of the initial arrest and the search warrant, police seized:
- Brass knuckles
- Spring assisted knife
- Cattle prod
- Almost 20 grams of suspected purple fentanyl
- Over 8 grams of suspected Methamphetamine
- 10 Suspected hydromorphone tablets
- A small amount of cocaine
- Just over $2100 in Canadian currency
- Other items associated with drug trafficking
Stefani Macsuga, 31 years old of Bancroft, has been charged with:
- Trafficking in schedule I substance – opioid
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid – two counts
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – two counts
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Unauthorized possession of weapon – two counts
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of weapon – two counts
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
