With a heat warning in effect this week, the City of Belleville is reminding residents that the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre and Belleville Public Library are public cooling centres for those needing relief from the heat.
Residents should note that on Canada Day (July 1), the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre will remain open for cooling from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but the Belleville Public Library will be closed.
These facilities are open during the following hours:
Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre
- Open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Canada Day (July 1): Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for cooling. Please use the west entrance on Canada Day.
Belleville Public Library
- Monday to Thursday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Closed on Sundays through Sept. 6
- Closed on Canada Day (July 1)
Splash pads can also be used to stay cool and are open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., including Canada Day. Find a splash pad near you at Belleville.ca/SplashPads.
