Multiple fraud charges have been laid against a Belleville woman following a reported employee theft last month.
On May 7 of this year, Belleville Police received an initial report from an organization regarding employee theft.
Almost a week later on May 13, the organization provided additional information to police following an internal investigation.
It was determined that the employee had been using a company-issued credit card to purchase personal items while falsely claiming the purchases were for organizational use.
Further investigation revealed the employee charged these purchases to various client trust accounts while retaining the items for personal use.
Victoria Woods, a 32-year-old Belleville woman, was arrested and charged with seven counts of fraud under $5,000 and six counts of criminal breach of trust.
She was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.
