The CEO of the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board has shared a message with local families as the school year comes to an end on Thursday.
The following message was posted on the school board’s website in advance of the last day of classes for the 2025-2026 school year, thanking everyone who made this year a success and looking with optimism to when classes resume in September.
Dear Families:
As we approach the end of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible dedication, growth, and achievements of our students. The summer break is just around the corner, and before we dismiss for a well-deserved rest, I have a few items to share with you.
First and foremost, I want to extend my warmest congratulations to our graduating class of 2026. Reaching this milestone is a testament to their hard work, perseverance, and the unwavering support of their families and educators. We are immensely proud of all they have accomplished during their time with HPEDSB. Whether they are moving on to future education, entering the workforce, or exploring other exciting opportunities, we wish them the absolute best in your next chapter. Thank you for being a part of HPEDSB!
While summer is a time to recharge, it is also a wonderful opportunity for continued growth. We are pleased to offer the HPEDSB Summer Learning Program once again this year. These programs are designed to keep students engaged, help them build confidence, and reinforce essential skills in a fun and supportive environment. We encourage families to explore these opportunities to keep young minds active and inspired over the break.
As we look ahead to the first day of the 2026-2027 school year on September 2, please keep the following in mind for transportation:
- Portal access: School bus information for the 2026-2027 academic year will be available to families in July via the Tri-Board portal.
- Application deadline: New students, as well as students with a change of address or a new school, need to apply online by August 5, 2026, to ensure busing for the first day of school.
- Action required: Please visit triboard.ca to apply for transportation and to access your student’s busing details for September.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for making this school year a success. On behalf of everyone at Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, I wish all our students, families, and staff a safe, restful, and joyful summer. Please take this time to relax, connect with loved ones, and enjoy the beautiful weather.
We look forward to welcoming you back in September!
Best wishes,
Katherine MacIver, Chief Executive Officer
