More details have been released about a police investigation on Friday afternoon in the Deseronto area.
The OPP posted on social media earlier in the day that there was a large police presence around Highway 49 and Old Highway 2.
Officials with the Tyendinaga Police Service posted the following update around 5 pm.
UPDATE –
Tyendinaga Police Service wishes to advise the community that earlier today, an incident originating in Tyendinaga Township resulted in a wanted male suspect fleeing from responding officers into Tyendinaga Territory.
The suspect subsequently engaged in a series of criminal offences within the Territory while being actively tracked through coordinated efforts involving Tyendinaga Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police officers, and OPP Aviation Services.
The suspect was ultimately located and safely taken into custody in Shannonville.
He was transported to the Lennox and Addington OPP Detachment for further processing.
There were no injuries reported, and the incident concluded safely for all involved.
Tyendinaga Police Service extends appreciation to community members for their patience and cooperation during this incident.
