The Belleville Police Service reminds motorists to make road safety a priority. With increased RIDE programs and Focused Patrols taking place across the Quinte Region, drivers are urged to stay alert and make smart choices behind the wheel.

· Never drive impaired — plan a sober ride ahead of time.

· Always wear your seatbelt and ensure all passengers do the same.

· Obey posted speed limits and traffic signals to avoid collisions.

· Refrain from using mobile devices while driving to minimize distractions.

· Be mindful of pedestrians and cyclists, especially in residential areas and school zones.

Road safety is a shared responsibility. Help do your part to ensure everyone gets home safely.

Wednesday alone, there were there were seven motor vehicle collisions reported to the collision reporting center. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries.
