Members of the Northumberland OPP have recovered multiple stolen vehicles and charged one individual over the weekend.

Officers responded to a complaint regarding a stolen vehicle at a property on County Road 65 in the Municipality of Port Hope on Saturday.

Police located a stolen pickup truck, and the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit was engaged to assist with the investigation.

A search warrant was executed at the property on May 24, 2026. As a result, numerous stolen vehicles were located within wooded areas on the property. Officers also recovered a fishing boat.

In total, police seized seven motor vehicles, a boat, and other items believed to be related to criminal activity. The estimated value of the recovered vehicles is approximately $900,000 CAD.

Syed Shah, 41 of Port Hope, has been charged with eight counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and three counts altering/destroying/removing a vehicle identification number.

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
