Suspect charged following break-in to business in downtown Belleville

A Belleville man has been charged following a break-in at a business in the downtown core over the weekend.

On May 24th at 7:51 a.m., Belleville Police responded to a report of a break and enter in the downtown area. It was reported that the business owner discovered signs of unauthorized entry into the business and observed that the cash register had been accessed. Officers reviewed surveillance footage, which showed a suspect entering the premises and accessing the register.

At 9:28 a.m., officers located amale suspect on Dundas Street East.

As a result of police investigation, James Patrick, 46-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

· Break and enter

· Fail to comply with a probation order

He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.
