Zack Card holds official Mayoral Campaign launch in Quinte West

By Paul Martin May 19, 2026 | 12:33 PM

The official campaign is still several weeks away, but the municipal election race in Quinte West is already heating up.

Tuesday morning, Zack Card officially launched his Mayoral campaign at Dahlia May.

Card has served one term on Council after leading the polls in Ward One/Trenton back in 2022.

Card says Quinte West has amazing potential, and it’s up to everyone to come together and help the municipality achieve it.

His speech on Tuesday consistently touched on the issues of efficiency, affordability, and physician recruitment.

Card says currently 20% of Quinte West residents don’t have a family doctor and that is totally unacceptable.

He also says the municipality must continue to investigate and invest in new procedures and technology to improve efficiency so they can reduce the impact on the taxpayer.

He stressed that saying “this is the way we have always done things” isn’t good enough.

As of Tuesday, Card is the only candidate that has filed his nomination papers to run for Mayor of Quinte West in October.
