Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fire at a residence in the Municipality of Port Hope.
On May 11, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and police were dispatched to a report of a structure fire on County Road 2.
The residence sustained significant damage. Police can confirm that no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
County Road 2 was closed in the area while emergency responders were on scene, and the location was held for the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) to conduct its investigation. The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit is also continuing a police investigation.
