The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.

On Friday, May 8, 2026, at approximately 2:10 a.m., a traffic complaint led Quinte West OPP to suspect a motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol.

The driver then attended the Quinte West Detachment, in relation to a separate incident, where impaired charges were laid.

Julia TREGUNNA, age 26, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on June 18, 2026. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence was suspended for 90 days.

If you suspect that someone is driving or about to drive impaired, call 9-1-1 and report it. You could save a life.
