Stepping forward together: The 2026 Hike for Hospice invites community to talk in remembrance, support, and hope

There is something powerful about walking together, especially when each step carries meaning, memory, and purpose. Hike for Hospice is more than a community walk; it is a shared journey of remembrance, gratitude, and support for individuals and families receiving hospice care across our region.

Hosted by Hospice Quinte, the annual Hike for Hospice brings together participants of all ages and abilities to honour loved ones, celebrate life, and raise vital funds that ensure compassionate end-of-life care remains accessible to all who need it.

Set along a scenic, welcoming route, the Hike offers a gentle 2 or 5K accessible walk where community connection takes centre stage. Participants walk in memory of someone special, in support of a family’s journey, or simply alongside others who understand the importance of compassionate care.

Each year, the event continues to grow- not only in participation, but in meaning. It serves as a reminder that grief and love are deeply connected, and that healing often happens through community, conversation, and shared experience.

Funds raised through the Hike for Hospice directly support Hospice Quinte’s programs and services, which are provided at no cost to individuals and families. These include residential hospice care, grief and bereavement support, and community programs designed to walk alongside people through some of life’s most difficult moments.

Hike for Hospice will take place on Saturday, May 23rd from 9:30-12 PM at Centennial Park in Trenton. Participants are encouraged to register individually or as part of a team. Businesses, organizations, and community groups are also invited to show their support through participation or sponsorship.

Registration is now open, and we encourage everyone to sign up through our website and join us in making a meaningful difference.
