Gardeners may want to take a few extra precautions if they have already invested significant time already this spring.

A Frost Advisory (yellow) has been issued by Environment Canada for a large part of the Quinte Region including Belleville, Quinte West, Prince Edward County, Brighton and Napanee.

It is included below.

ADVISORY – Frost may damage some crops in frost-prone areas. Patchy frost is expected this morning (Wednesday) as temperatures drop to near or below the freezing mark. Frost is possible again tonight in some areas. Damage to plants, trees, and crops is possible. Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas.
