Election ballot question up for appeal in PEC

By Brock Ormond May 5, 2026 | 2:24 PM

Ontario’s Chief Electoral Officer will hold a hearing for an appeal of the question on the 2026 municipal election ballot in Prince Edward County.

The hearing will take place on Wednesday, May 6 at 10 am. inside Council Chambers at Shire Hall on 332 Picton Main Street.

County officials say the municipality learned earlier this week that Election Ontario would not be providing public notice and would leave it to each party to share the notice of hearing with any additional party they may wish to share it with.

Therefore, they say they are sharing the news of the hearing ahead of time in order to be as transparent as possible.
