Belleville Police charge teen following incident with knife at local school

Belleville Police have charged a teen following an incident involving a knife at a local school.

On April 29th, Belleville Police investigated a report of a male attending an east end high school who had approached students and threatened them with a knife. The male displayed the handle of a knife, which was concealed inside a backpack.

On April 30th, as a result of investigation, a 16-year-old Belleville male whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

· Carrying concealed weapon

· Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

· Assault with a weapon

· Fail toc comply with release order

· Fail to comply with sentence
