Early April collision in Cramahe Township under investigation

By Brock Ormond Apr 20, 2026 | 3:32 PM

Police are investigating a serious motor vehicle collision in the Township of Cramahe earlier this month.

Around 3:15 a.m. on April 4, members of the Northumberland OPP, along with members from the Cramahe Fire Department services, and Northumberland County Paramedics responded to a report of an individual located in a ditch off Huycke Road.

A heavily damaged all-terrain vehicle was located nearby.

The individual was transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to another medical centre with life-threatening injuries.

Huycke Road was closed for several hours while officers conducted the initial investigation at the scene. The roadway reopened at approximately 5:00 p.m. the same day.

A second vehicle believed to be involved in the incident has been seized.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation by the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
