A Countryside Resort Hidden Gem – You probably didn’t know about

May 4, 2026 | 5:30 AM

A hidden gem sits in the rolling hills of Northumberland, only 20 minutes north of Belleville. Wingfield Inn and Gardens transports you to the beauty of the countryside and offers a unique countryside experience.
Perfectly suited for large groups, the Inn boasts 3 large homes, accommodating up to 30 guests on its 5 acre property. Families and friends gather all season long to celebrate and reconnect with each other in a beautiful setting. The outdoor pool, lawn games, firepits, seating and the crown jewel sprawling gardens offer a truly peaceful and unique setting for groups.
The spaces allow for everyone to have their own privacy between the 15 Bedrooms on-site, blending a communal feel, while also not feeling like you are sardines being packed in a hostel. The private nature of the property allows your groups to feel at ease, not sharing the pool with strangers, but only with your own strange friends and family.
Upon arrival, a fresh gift basket with local goods from Empire Cheese, Dooher’s Donuts and other staples that reflect the unique businesses of the area give a truly local experience. Topped off with freshly picked veggies growing from the sprawling gardens that cover the grounds. Depending on the season you may get fresh strawberries, tomatoes, lettuce, basil, raspberries and even peaches!  Tables are topped with freshly cut flowers from the garden making the atmosphere a floral paradise. And to encourage the love of gardening, each group has access to seeds to take home, along with potted perennials to enjoy the beauty of gardens at home.

Once you visit, you may have to come back each year with your family, taking the time to carve out time to be together is some of the best memories and gifts we can give to our family. And at Wingfield Inn & Gardens that can happen easier than ever.
