The Municipality of Brighton is inviting residents to participate in the 16th Annual Mayors’ Keep the County Clean Challenge, a friendly community competition among the seven municipalities of Northumberland County.
Beginning April 19, Brighton and Northumberland County are teaming up once again to encourage residents to help “put waste in its place” by cleaning up public spaces around our community including roadside ditches, parks, and nature trails.
New this year, participants in the Keep the County Clean Challenge will receive one sheet of garbage bag tags per registered household or organization as a thank you for contributing to this community wide effort.
Registration forms are now available online at www.brighton.ca, and paper copies can be found at the Municipal Centre, 35 Alice Street. Supply pick-up will take place from April 16 to 24 at the Municipal Centre during regular business hours. Please note: All supplies will be pre-packaged for participants and will not be distributed through the traditional “Supply Pick-Up Bins”.
Participating in community clean-up initiatives is a meaningful way to help protect the environment, promote sustainability, and make a visible impact in Brighton.
