The Quinte West Detachment of the OPP has laid charges in an impaired investigation where a person was stopped on an electric scooter.

On Sunday, April 5, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a traffic stop on Marmora Street in Trenton led to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the operator for being impaired.

David Hanna, 66, from Quinte West was charged with impaired operation of a vehicle and operation with a blood alcohol concentration level of 80 plus.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 7, 2026. Additionally, their licence was suspended for 90 days.
